When purchasing a new home, you want to make sure it isn’t plagued by mold. Mold can cause everything from minor sinus irritation to major health concerns—not to mention the damage it can do to your potential new home. While some molds are visible, not all mold is easily detected during a walk-through. That’s why our team at Inspecticore urges you to consider a professional mold inspection before you sign on the dotted line.
Why Is Mold Testing Important?
Our inspection team is trained in looking for mold and testing for it. A mold inspection will give you peace of mind, knowing that a pro has checked your home for mold – even if the results come back positive. It’s better to know whether a home has mold before you purchase it rather than after. Mold affects people in different ways: sinus issues, nasal stuffiness, eye dryness or itching, breathing problems, and more. Some are more affected than others, but the typical mold symptoms are usually mild but nevertheless dangerous.
What Is Included in a Mold Test?
One of our certified inspectors will first inspect all areas of your Long Island home for visible signs of mold, which include discolored walls and obvious black mold growth. Then, he/she will take air samples inside and outside to test for mold spores, as air quality is a much better indicator of mold growth than standard visible inspection. When the test results come back from our lab, we’ll send it to you and explain all findings, as well as go over recommendations for applicable remediation.
